Vehicles in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the public for tips.

An important representative commented the incident made him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
