Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
The striker was dropped from a European match after voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has chosen not to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
