Individual Charged with Trying to Kill in Gunfire Attack of National Football League Player Kris Boyd
A man has been charged with trying to kill someone in connection with the shooting that wounded New York Jets NFL player Kris Boyd.
Accused Individual Identified and Arrested
The accused is Frederick Green, twenty years old. He was on Monday, charged with and criminal possession of a weapon.
Circumstances of the Mid-November Incident
The serious event took place in the early hours of 16 November, near a well-known New York City restaurant. Law enforcement stated the event as a confrontation with a unknown individuals.
Boyd, age 29, was accompanied by two other Jets players and a third companion in Midtown Manhattan when the verbal confrontation began.
The situation turned into a altercation, during which police allege Green shot the athlete twice in the torso.

The bullet hit Boyd's lung and became embedded in his pulmonary artery. He was taken to the hospital in grave condition but was eventually released.

When law enforcement converged on the building, the suspect was seen "looking out the apartment window searching for an way out but went back in after seeing the authorities," the report added.
The confrontation ended soon after, when the suspect left the residence with his hands in the air.
The suspect had "modified his appearance presumably to not be recognized," authorities commented.
The Player's Professional Background
Prior to signing with the Jets earlier this year, Boyd played the Houston Texans over several seasons in the league.
The cornerback had been on the team's injury list for the Jets after suffering a injury to his shoulder during practice in August.
