Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Participate in MPs' Questioning After Allegations of Prejudice in Disclosed Memo
We start with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that oversees the group.
She initiates by giving background to the unauthorized document written by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning toward one side or the other, I just want it balanced, unbiased and just," he says.
In response to a query whether he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, a great deal the BBC creates is world class - encompassing factual and non-factual shows."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains substantial tasks that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "persistent practice and active debate" across fluid and multifaceted subjects.
"Whether the BBC was willing to have a proper discussion and exchange and act accordingly?" she reflects. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
